At Rocking Speer Ranch, horse training is led by Teresa Speer, a Josh Lyons Certified and Accredited Trainer specializing in developing confident, responsive horses and capable riders. Whether you are starting a young horse, working through gaps in an older horse’s training, or looking to become a better rider and horseman, Teresa’s program focuses on creating understanding instead of simply forcing compliance.
Riding Lesson Subscriptions
Build real horsemanship through consistent, progressive instruction. Our monthly lesson subscription plans reserve your weekly position and provide four lessons each month, with options for riders using their own horse or one of our trained ranch horses.
Colt Starting
Give your young horse the right start from day one. Our colt-starting program focuses on confidence, communication, groundwork, body control, and a progressive introduction to saddling and riding—building a foundation designed to last.
Barrel Racing Training Package
Sharpen your timing, position, communication, and control in the pattern. This rider-focused program helps you build a stronger partnership with your horse while developing the balance, confidence, and consistency needed for better barrel racing performance.
Trailer Loading Services
Trailer loading should be calm, controlled, and repeatable. We work through fear, resistance, and gaps in communication to help your horse load, stand, and unload with greater confidence and understanding.
Remedial Horse Training
When the foundation starts to slip, a focused tune-up can get things back on track. Remedial training addresses responsiveness, softness, confidence, manners, and communication to help restore a safer, more willing, and more consistent horse.
Groundwork for Success
Better riding starts on the ground. This program develops respect, body control, responsiveness, confidence, and clear communication before those skills are carried into the saddle.
