Teresa Speer

Rocking Speer Ranch, LLP is veteran owned and operated by Joshua and Teresa Speer.  Teresa was medically retired from the United States Army with over 6 years of honorable and faithful service. In December of 2021, Teresa earned her associate degree in Equine Sciences, Training, and Stable Management. Teresa received interdisciplinary training in animal science, business, horse training and behavior, policy, and human resources. The education and skills she learned from her degree prepared her for the rigor of training these magnificent creatures. Her unique ability to communicate with horses provides an uncanny understanding of their behavior, physical health, the means to manage different horses across multiple disciplines.

 

In October of 2022, Teresa competed in her first World Finals Series with the National Barrel Horse Association (NBHA) and since has double qualified for the 2023 NHBA world finals as well as the 2023 Better Barrel Racing World Finals.  Teresa specializes in colt starting and barrel racing, because of her love for the sport.  Since the inception of our Horse Training Services, Teresa has provided services for Missouri horses owners of different disciplines: trail horses, performance, and desensitization/ tune-up.  Teresa provides horse education for clients through literature, social media, and hands on experiences.

Since 2022, Teresa has embedded herself within the horse community. She has trained under veteran barrel racers from the Womens Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) and the National Finals Rodeo  (NFR) finalists and has enlisted a wide variety of mentors within the community. She continues to attend formal and informal continuing education opportunities to broaden her experience and training tools.

In February 2023, Teresa became a Wellness Partner with That Others May Live (TOML) and a Horse-set Service Provider for Bemer Group, USA. In May 2023, Rocking Speer Ranch, LLP signed on with Rafter S Arena and Select The Best as part of their Professional Horsemen Program.

In June 2024, Teresa was accepted and attended Josh Lyons Trainers' Academy. At the academy she was certified in "Colt Starting" and Accredited in "Performance" under the direct tutelage of Josh Lyons.
